TOUCH OF TANGERINE

My inspiration for this particular outfit was one of my favorite fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2012, which is colorblocking. My take on wearing this trend is to maximize impact by pairing two solid-color pieces in complementary hues. To complete this look I added a simple black clutch and a pair of heels with a neutral front and a bit of matching tangerine drama in the back.

LAVENDER LOVE

If you visit my blog on regular basis, you know I drool over anything lavender. Something about the color reminds me of Summer, sunshine and freedom. Since my ever-expanding jean-pant collection did not yet include a pair in my favorite color, I was pretty psyched to come across these babies. This particular shade makes me especially weak in the knees:) 

Emil and I shot these pics last Sunday. We had one of those impossibly relaxing, gloriously lazy days, driving down Topanga canyon, car windows rolled all the way down, wind in our hair, sipping on iced lemonade, listening to Led Zeppelin. I think Summer is here:)

NEON KNIT

I actually bought this dress for my anniversary, which is coming up in July. And I have to say that for the first 2 weeks I was able to control the urge to wear it. Eventually it became more and more difficult to resist the temptation of neon pink stripes starring back at me every time I opened my closet. So, when Emil and I got invited to a friend's impromptu party, I suddenly found myself thinking that I have absolutely nothing to wear, except of course my new dress. Have you even noticed how that happens:)? So, I wore it, I am human after all, July is too far away and dresses like that are not meant to hang in closets unworn:)

P.S. I got a few emails asking me about my make up and specifically which products I use on my eyes and cheeks. Right now I am loving YSL Luxurious Mascara which creates the fullest and longest eyelashes ever and YSL Shocking Ink Eyeliner, because it stays on all day long and doesn't smudge. For cheeks I use Bobbi Brown blush in Apricot, because I am such a fan of this peachy pink shade, I also like to add a little bit of Bobbi Brown shimmer brick in Necktar over my blush for some added sparkle.

QUILTS & CAT EYES

Wearing what is probably the most gorgeous leather skirt ever made. Quilts, leather and volume, yes please!!!! Since it's such a statement piece I wanted to keep the rest of the look simple, hence the mostly black outfit. See, I don't wear color all the time:) Ok, maybe I wear color a lot, but I do love black and white.

Another obsession of the moment is these black-on-black cat-eye sunglasses. Got them last week and can't stop wearing them. An instant dose of cool, love the way they mimic my exaggerated eye liner, cat eye makeup. Really, can they be any more perrrr-fect?:)
